Missouri Casino Loss Limit Close to Being Eliminated!
URGENT!Â? Gambling Loss Limit in Danger of Being Removed!
Please forward this to your entire email list and circulate at church.Â? In addition, please ask your pastor to share this information with your church this coming Sunday.
All concerned citizens need to contact their state Senator beginning Monday, April 30.Â? SB430 was “perfected†this past week by a very close vote (16-no/17-yes).Â? This means it only needs to be voted on one more time ( called a “third readingâ€Â) to pass out of the Senate.Â? If passed, SB 430 will remove Missouri’s $500 loss limit on gambling and move to the House for final approval.
The loss limit serves as a great protection to families of gambling addicts.Â? Many gamblers can easily lose $25,000 in a short time span.Â? Could you imagine the devastation caused to the families of compulsive gamblers in our state if the loss limit is removed?Â? However, the risk is not just to compulsive gamblers.Â? Casinos use very sofisticated marketing technics to lure patrons to the casino, but once inside the entire experience is created to dazzle and sweep up average people in order to cause them to gamble away more money than they originally planned.
Also, the loss limit serves to deter criminals from money laundering.Â? This is why Attorney General Jay Nixon opposes the removal of loss limits.
Please contact your Senator and politely, but firmly asked them to vote against SB 430.
Here is the voteÂ? on SB 430 from this past week.
