HJR 55

 

This House Joint Resolution was debated on the House floor on Thursday (2-14-08) but was not finished before the end of the legislative day.Â?

Final amendments and debate are expected Monday afternoon when the House goes back into session.Â?

 

HJR 55 seeks to amend the state constitution with a clarification of student’s rights to pray in public schools, and all citizens rights to pray in any public building.Â?

Please call your Representative in the Missouri House.Â? Ask that they support HJR 55 as it is, without any amendments, and send it to the Senate.

HB1472 Sponsored by Representative Jane Cunningham, revises the definition of “abortion” and requires an obstetric ultrasound to be conducted prior to the 24-hour waiting period for an abortion.

Referred to the Special House Committee on Family Services.

HB1831 Sponsored by Representative Onder, changes the laws regarding the consent requirements for obtaining an abortion and creates the crime of coercing an abortion. Referred to the Special Committee on Family Services.

HB1946 Sponsored by Representative Franz, modifies the requirements regarding the granting of adoption subsidies. Read for the Second Time.

HB1953 Sponsored by Representative Lembke, makes it a crime to create mixed human-animal individuals. Read for the second time.

HB1979 Sponsored by Representative Joe Smith, establishes the Missouri National Guard and Missouri Reservists Family Education Grant. Introduced and read for the first time.
